Theory and Knowledge: Participants will learn the fundamentals of nitrox diving, including the benefits and safety considerations associated with using oxygen-enriched mixes. They will study the physics of diving with nitrox blends, depth and time limits for each mix, and procedures for planning nitrox dives both as bottom gas and decompression gas. Participants will also learn to create a dive plan with decompression, understand and control their dive computer, work with tables and dive software like Multideco, and much more.

Gas Management: The course will focus on gas management during nitrox diving. Participants will learn how to properly use gas blends to extend their dive time safely and how to smoothly switch between different gas mixes when necessary to enhance and expedite decompression.

Mix Analysis: An essential part of the course is learning gas mix analysis. Participants will use an oxygen analyzer to accurately check the oxygen percentage in the dive tank, ensuring the mix is suitable for their needs.

Safety in Nitrox Diving: The course will emphasize safety in nitrox diving, highlighting specific emergency procedures and safety considerations related to the use of enriched gas blends.

Confine Water Practice: Similar to the “Essential Tek Diver” course, you will refine your buoyancy control and learn to use technical diving equipment such as the twinset, wing, or sidemount configuration. You will perform basic exercises like valve drills, air sharing with a long hose, various finning techniques (frog kick, modified frog kick, flutter kick, modified flutter kick, helicopter turn, backward kick), and learn line laying, among other skills. You will also learn to use an additional decompression bottle (stage), perform gas switches, hand off a decompression bottle to your buddy, and much more.

Open Water Practice: After completing the in-water confined training, you will conduct several open water dives (in the sea) to apply your nitrox and decompression diving skills. You will gradually descend to a depth of 40 meters (130 feet) and progressively extend your decompression time in accordance with IANTD standards.

Certification: Upon successfully completing the IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver course, you will receive certification that allows you to safely dive with any nitrox blend up to a depth of 40 meters (130 feet), using a decompression bottle (stage), and conducting accelerated nitrox decompression in accordance with your dive plan.
