Every year, from June to September, numerous whale sharks gather off the coast of Isla Mujeres. This activity undoubtedly offers a unique opportunity to swim and get up close with several whale sharks at the same time while enjoying the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.
What does the “Snorkeling with Whale Sharks” activity involve? We will meet early in the morning, around 6:30 am, to head towards Cancun. We will arrive at the Cancun marina, where, after having some coffee and fruits, a boat accommodating up to 8 people will take us to the areas where the whale sharks can be found. Generally, it takes about 1 hour of navigation to locate them. Then, two people at a time, we will jump into the water multiple times equipped with fins, masks, and snorkels to swim alongside the world’s largest fish. Once the activity is complete, we will enjoy a homemade ceviche (a typical dish made from fish and shrimp) on the beautiful beach of Isla Mujeres (Playa Norte). The return to your hotel is usually around 4:00 pm.
