Specialized Pedagogical Training: The “Sidemount Instructor” course includes specialized pedagogical training to effectively and safely teach sidemount diving. You will learn teaching principles, class management, sidemount-specific teaching techniques, and how to create a positive learning environment tailored to new divers.

Sidemount Technical Knowledge: You will deepen your technical knowledge of sidemount diving, including different equipment configurations, tank handling techniques, communication procedures, sidemount-specific propulsion and buoyancy techniques, as well as safety considerations related to this configuration.

Confined Water Training: You will learn to teach basic sidemount skills in confined environments, including pool or cenote exercises. This will equip you to demonstrate and guide new divers through sidemount-specific exercises, gradually preparing them for deeper environments.

Natural Environment Training: Following the confined water portion, you will learn to supervise novice sidemount divers during their open water dives. Your role will be to provide guidance during their ocean dives, as well as supervision and assistance to ensure their safety and success.

Candidate and Student Evaluation: You will be trained in assessing the sidemount diving skills of students and providing constructive feedback to help them progress as sidemount divers.

IANTD Teaching Standards: You will learn IANTD safety standards and ethical guidelines for teaching sidemount diving, as well as the legal responsibilities of an instructor.
