Prerequisites: Before enrolling to this course, you should be previously certified as an “Advanced Open Water Diver” or equivalent, and have minimum diving experience.
Theory and Knowledge: The course includes in-depth theoretical training on the specific aspects of wreck diving. You will study safety considerations, wreck diving techniques, dive planning, as well as protocols for maintaining the integrity and preservation of wrecks.
Wreck Diving Techniques: You will learn specific techniques for safely diving on wrecks, including navigating inside wrecks, setting up a guideline, buoyancy management to avoid stirring up sediment, damaging wrecks, or injuring yourself, and how to respond to emergency situations under overhead environments.
Historical Knowledge: An important part of the “Wreck Diver” course is learning about the history of the wrecks you will explore. You will study the ship’s history, the circumstances of its sinking, and understand the importance of preserving these historical sites.
Wreck Dives: The course will include multiple dives on actual wreck sites at sea to put your wreck diving skills into practice.
Certification: After successfully completing the “Wreck Diver” course, you will receive a certification that allows you to dive on wrecks while adhering to the depth limits of your previous certifications, as well as safety and preservation protocols for the sites.
