IANTD Essential Tek Diver
IANTD Essential Tek Diver: Minimum Duration of 3 Days
The IANTD Essential Tek Diver program allows you to learn the fundamental concepts of technical diving and transition from your standard configuration (single tank) to double tanks (twinset) or sidemount.
The IANTD “Essential Tek Diver” program includes the following elements:
Theory and Knowledge: You will learn the basics of technical diving, including the fundamental principles of decompression, dive planning, gas management, and specific safety procedures for technical diving.
Technical Diving Skills: During this training, you will refine your buoyancy control and learn to use technical diving equipment such as the twinset or sidemount configuration. You will practice basic exercises like valve drills, air sharing with a long hose, various finning techniques (frog kick, modified frog kick, flutter kick, modified flutter kick, helicopter turn, backward kick), line laying, and more. Team communication and underwater navigation will also be covered.
Open Water Practice: Once the pool sessions and exercises are successfully completed, you will proceed to open water to apply your technical diving skills.
Safety Training: The program also emphasizes the importance of safety in technical diving, focusing on rescue and emergency procedures specific to this type of diving. You will learn how to anticipate and manage emergency situations related to technical diving.
Certification: After successfully completing the IANTD “Essential Tek Diver” program, you will receive certification that acknowledges your initial training in technical diving. This certification will allow you to progress to more advanced levels of technical diving certification, such as “Advanced Nitrox Diver” or “Technical Diver.”
If any corrections or repetitions are needed, we will add one or two additional days based on the errors made, as the goal is to ensure a thorough understanding and successful completion of the exercises and the final validation dive.
